Sassy Skirts

Finally managed to get this picture up!  My computer is not running at peak performance and I'm having lots of difficulty uploading pics to blogger.

I am working on some "back to school" skirts for the girls this week.  Here are the fab fabrics that I found at Thimbles in Hoover.  I am so excited to get them all done.  I finished one for Sophie yesterday and she wore it to a birthday party tonight.  I'll try to put pics up of the finished product.  Thanks Jenn for letting me use the pattern!  I think when it's all said and done they'll cost about $7.50 a piece.  Not too shabby for a fun and sassy skirt!

This song rocks my world!

I love this song by Beckah Shae!  I'm going to download it now for my ipod and I think you should too!
This is one of those songs you wanna dance around your house or run to!  Songs that praise Jesus and claim truths about Him inspire me so much!  Hope this song pumps you up about Our Savior too!

Click here to see the site I got the lyrics from.

So here I am ready to have all of you

So here I am waiting for you and…
Nothing can change the way I feel when I’m with you
You give me a peace that surpasses all understanding
And no one can tell me there's a better place than with you
You give love everlasting

Oh, here You come
With Your arms open wide (come fill me)
Oh, cause You are the one
Who fulfills all my desires

You are love, You are life
You're the air that I breathe
You're my day and my night
You’re my joy, You’re my peace
You're the wings for my flight
And vision to my sight.
You are truth, You are power
You gave me faith to believe
Brought me straight to my knees
Now I'm standing
Here in this moment, with You
There's nowhere I'd rather be

There's only one who can truly satisfy me
Only you can give me everything that I need
And as high as the heavens are above the earth
You’ve shown me your love so unconditionally
Oh, here You come
With Your arms open wide (come fill me)
Oh cause You are the one
Who can fill me with this fire

There's nothing that I can do without You
I know life only because of Your love
I just can't breathe without You
I'm so crazy about You
And I know love only because of Your life
Oh You overwhelm me with Your love.
Oh You overwhelm me, You overwhelm me!

Deuteronomy 30:20

Ahhh... Blogger!

Blogger won't upload my pictures.  I've been trying for days.  Anyone encountered this.  It tries to upload them for a minute or two and then just says "failed."  Any info would be appreciated =)

My journey to an organized house

Are you overwhelmed by the clutter in your house?
Are you constantly looking around thinking, "I could be on Clean House or possibly even Hoarding:  Buried Alive?"
Does your counter top look like a hurricane just hit?
Do toys seem to breed and multiply in your playroom?
Does it seem like your laundry pile far exceeds the amount of clothing your family could possibly wear?
Have you ever cleaned your house perfectly and thought to yourself...."This time, I'm going to keep it clean!" only to find that 24 hours later it is NOT CLEAN!

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you have something in common with me.
You see, I desperately want to have the "magazine" house that is oh so perfectly and annoyingly (to others) organized!  When my house is clean and everything in its place, I tend to like it/enjoy it a lot more!  However, I struggle weekly, daily, hourly... to keep it clean.  Most nights I hang my head in defeat as I survey the damage, too tired to care or clean anymore that night.

In an attempt to eliminate my late night walks of shame through my toy littered floor, I've been looking for better ways to conquer my clutter!  So, of course, when a modern girl needs a solution to a problem of this magnitude, where does she turn?  Google of course!
After I googled "organize my house", I was browing websites and I stumbled across a gem of an organizing site with a very interesting article!  TaDa (hear angels singing)  This glorious website/article offered to diagnose my "clutter personality" and then to help me fix it!  So of course, I was all in.  If you want to read the article and diagnose your clutter personality, click on this link.  It was very enlightening for me.  Diagnosing the problem is half the battle right?!

Okay, so read the article and come back to me.  Don't worry, it's not that long...

Which one are you?
I am hands down, "The Perfectionist!"  I look around, get overwhelmed, and then start tearing into some huge project.  I want it done perfectly and I'm not happy unless it's totally organized and beautiful and labeled etc...All kidding aside, the only way I can really get my house clean is when Trey is home to "keep me on task."  You would think that I have ADD, but after several hours of psychiatric evaluation courtesy of UAB, alas, no skinny pills adderall for me.  I don't have it.  (Even though everyone in my family has been diagnosed, so I think I should get adderall by default?) JK;)
Anyway............Now that I've figured out my clutter personality, maybe I can move on to the next step of recovery=)  I'll keep you posted...

Mac N Cheese, Socks, a Mask and a Surprise!

We took Sophie on a special date last night and let me tell you it doesn't take much to make a kid feel special, just a little time and tlc!  She kept telling me it was the best night of her life.  So sweet.
The best night of her life included macaroni and cheese, blizzard from DQ, a mask to wear in the pool, and a pack of socks from Academy.  Worth every penny to make that little girl feel special!
And to make the night even better, we ran into a couple from church at dinner.  They said they tried to pay for our meal but we were too quick, so they handed us a giftcard to the summit that they had.  They weren't sure how much money was on it but told us to call and check......
$48.00  Wow!  How awesome and sweet is that!  I love doing things like this for people and can't wait until I can do stuff like this a lot more.

Here's Trey and Sophie on our date!
All in all it was a great night!

Love Language

My love language happens to be gifts much to the chagrin of my husband.  Don't get me wrong, he is great at giving gifts!  But when you're on a tight schedule and a tighter budget, it makes gift giving a tad more difficult.
When we were at Auburn, I was on the Equestrian Team and traveled a lot on the weekends.  Every single time I would come home from a horse show, Trey would have flowers and a card waiting for me on my bedroom dresser.  He truly is very thoughtful but life gets busy and things like that get harder to do.
We just celebrated our 7th Anniversary this week and Trey did a GREAT job speaking my love language(even thought we said we weren't going to do gifts).  Remember this post?  Well, he totally surprised me(which is hard to do) and got me the second item from that list.  The leather hobo clutch!   He picked out a great looking kind of coral/orange color that I think will be great for Fall!  Another plus was that he got it on sale which made me love it even more!
This is not the actual color of it, but this is what it looks like.  My sister Riley gave me another hobo clutch for my birthday that is dressier.  It's yellow patent leather and super cute.  So now I have a dressy and casual version!
As a side note:  The card on the inside of the wallet says "Confident.Modern.Real."  umm, yes please!

What to do at home all day!

Sometimes I need a day to just stay home and rest.  We had a day like that yesterday.  We just played inside, did laundry, cleaned, dressed up and recovered from the fun weekend we had.
This is a little of what went on!!

Selah insisted on having EVERY bow she could find in her hair.
Then she proceeded to use her phone as a camera just like mommy!

We got out our "jewelries" and dressed up.

And that is pretty much what girls do all day at this house!

7 years ago today...

I married my best friend and I can't imagine doing life without him!
Falling in love with Trey is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.  He is such a blessing to me and to our family.  Our wedding day was truly one of the happiest days of my life and I am so proud to be his wife. Trey truly complements me in so many ways and I think we make a great team.  Marriage is a challenge at times, but it is so rewarding!  Thanks for 7 wonderful years Trey and I praythat we have many many more!

Wish I had a wedding pic, but we didn't have digital photography at our wedding.  May try to scan one today...  We'll see.  Stay tuned for pics from the weekend!
