Sassy Skirts

Finally managed to get this picture up!  My computer is not running at peak performance and I'm having lots of difficulty uploading pics to blogger.

I am working on some "back to school" skirts for the girls this week.  Here are the fab fabrics that I found at Thimbles in Hoover.  I am so excited to get them all done.  I finished one for Sophie yesterday and she wore it to a birthday party tonight.  I'll try to put pics up of the finished product.  Thanks Jenn for letting me use the pattern!  I think when it's all said and done they'll cost about $7.50 a piece.  Not too shabby for a fun and sassy skirt!

So fresh and so green!

I've been meaning to post pictures of the precious shirts my sweet friend Jennifer made for the girls.  I made the ruffle shorts and she did the applique.  The best part was that the fabric was about $5 a yard (which made shorts for Sophie and bloomers for Selah)  and the shirts cost $4 at Walmart!  Not too shabby for a cute outfit=)

I have two more outfits that I'll post later on and then when I finish those, I am going to make some dresses.  I love dressing my sweet girls up!

Sew Fun!

I love cute ruffle shorts with mongrammed or applique tshirts.  I really wanted to get the girls a few of these matching outfits, but the best price I could find was about $30 per outfit... So I decided that I could do it myself for a lot less!

For about $24, I bought supplies (from Hancock) to make 8 pairs of shorts/bloomers for the girls.  That comes out to be about $3 each pair.  Here's my first attempt.  I used Becky for the shorts and Frannie Baby for the bloomers.

Hopefully I'll have a cute picture of my precious cuties in these soon!

I am sewing with Jennifer in a few days, so hopefully we'll have lots of cute new clothes to post soon.  Projects are so much more fun when you have a friend to do them with!

Shop by Color

I am very drawn to color everywhere I go. When I shop, I definitely shop by color! I've had a green kick, an orange kick, and now I am on a yellow kick. These are a few of my favorite yellow finds this summer. It's not much of a Fall color, so I may have to move onto something more seasonally appropriate, but with the weather we're having, I think I can hang onto my yellow a little while longer=)
(I know I need a pedicure!)

The best thing about these two articles of clothing is that they were both less than$10! The bright yellow cardigan surprisingly goes with almost anything. It's not too matchy, but it just "works" with most of my clothes. It's from the Ann Taylor clearance rack. My yellow sandals were a New York find for $9.99. Gotta love that=)
